The Shape of Eternal Life

What if the small, quiet acts of love we offer to others are not just kind gestures but are actually the very substance of eternal life? This sermon takes us on a theological journey back before the universe existed, to a time when the only reality was the loving communion of the triune God. From that foundation, we are invited to see salvation not as an escape from pain or a reward for good behavior, but as something far more profound: becoming capable members of an eternal, perfect, loving communion of persons. The parable of the Good Samaritan, offered by Jesus in response to the question of how to inherit eternal life, is not just a story about being nice to strangers. It is a window into the very nature of God and what it means to be transformed into his likeness. We are challenged to rethink everything we assumed about what salvation is and why love is at its center.
