Fr. Spencer Amaral
The Reverend S. Spencer Amaral is a priest in the Southeast Diocese of the Reformed Episcopal Church. He is a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary, where he received a Masters of Theology with emphases in Apologetics and Philosophy. Spencer previously served as deacon at The Chapel of the Cross Reformed Episcopal Church in Dallas, Texas, and also worked as Director of Programming with The Windrose Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to developing young leaders through worldview education and mentorship.
Spencer grew up in Atwater, California, where he was home-schooled, played various sports and musical instruments, became an Eagle Scout, and competed in high school speech and debate. At age 16, Spencer converted to Christianity through the ministry of his debate coach, which helped to prompt his pursuit of higher education. He received his undergraduate degree from Hillsdale College in Political Economy, with focuses in journalism and jazz piano. Following college, Spencer discerned a call to ministry and began seminary studies part-time while engaging in campus ministry at Hillsdale College. After marrying Bailey, his college sweetheart in July of 2015, the Amarals moved to Dallas in 2016 in order for Spencer to complete seminary at DTS. Shortly after arriving in Texas, both Spencer and Bailey began their work directing The Windrose Project.
Spencer and Bailey have two sons: Joey (3), and Peter (1), and also have an energetic dog named Scout who is a shepherd-lab mix. In his spare time, Spencer enjoys playing piano, sports, history, classic films, grilling meat, and wrestling with the boys.
