We are working to plant a church in the Dallas, GA area in 2027

The Van Wagenens and several families from Christ the King in Marietta are forming a launch team to plant a church in the coming year. We are looking to reach out to the unchurched, the de-churched, the exvangelicals and those deconstructing their faith, and all those who need the love of God and a stable community in a harsh and ever-changing world.

Why Dallas?

We are excited to work towards building a church that is rooted in scripture and history and can be a stable place in a rapidly changing Atlanta Metro area. Dallas is a growing community with a rich history. The Anglican Church at its best can provide stability in the midst of change and adapt its ministry to new situations. Its preaching and practice are grounded on the unchanging revelation of God in the Bible, and it also has a history of evangelism and mercy ministry that adapts to the needs of a particular people and place. We love what we've seen of Dallas, and it is our earnest prayer that God would use this church plant to bless this city!

About the Planter

Fr. Hunter Van Wagenen is a lifelong Christian who has been formed for over 30 years in the Anglican tradition while benefitting greatly from his seminary education and work alongside people from a wide variety of traditions. Since before the age of 12 he has been captivated by the beauty of God in the worship of the Church in prayer, music, and sacrament.

Fr. Hunter graduated with his M.Div. from Beeson Divinity School in 2015 and has spent the last ten years serving in Anglican parishes in North Carolina and Florida.  He is married to his high school crush, Stephie, with whom he has five children and a growing number of ducks and chickens.
